OUR STORY
It has been nearly 50 years since a small group of friends started meeting in a home in a small village outside Haywards Heath. At the time, they didn’t know they were beginning a new church but from those early days, a community began to grow of men, women and children who followed Jesus, loved his word and welcomed the Holy Spirit. This was the start of who we are today.
Our church officially began in 1977 and over subsequent decades it has been called a number of different names and has met in a number of different venues. In 2005, we became The King’s Church Mid-Sussex and in 2012 we moved into our new home, The King’s Centre in Burgess Hill.
Our story runs parallel with the story of Newfrontiers - a global family of churches which has grown to over 1800 churches in 70 different nations. We are incredibly grateful to be part of Newfrontiers, and more specifically within this global family, we connect with a group of churches called New Ground.
We have seen God’s faithfulness year on year. We are amazed by his grace. We love God and we love people and we want everyone who comes to our church to feel like they have come home.
